2012 Puligny-Montrachet 1. Cru Les Combettes Henri Boillot

The 2012 Puligny- Montrachet Les Combettes is one of the more restrained 1er Crus in the lineup. Smoke, apricot and spice notes are woven together in a Puligny that is all about feminine delicateness and grace. Today, the Combettes is a bit marked by the new oak, but it is quite pretty all the same. 2014+

Like several of the wines in the range this presently displays both reduction and residual sulfur notes on the nose. There round, suave and delicious flavors possess solid midpalate concentration before terminating in a clean and dry finish that offers fine persistence but markedly less depth than the best of these Puligny 1ers. 2018+

Good full yellow. Expressive aromas of peach, flowers and marzipan. Concentrated and densely packed, conveying a tactile impression of dry extract. Chewy peach and spice flavors show noteworthy power. Doesn't have quite the cut of the 2013 version but this long, dry wine really needs a few years of bottle aging to express itself.
