This is a real beauty. Poderi Luigi Einaudi has expertly managed to interpret this legendary cru in a classic vintage. The 2021 Barolo Cannubi is a finely textured wine with a long succession of aromatic high tones that include cassis, licorice, smoke, iris and something almost citrusy in character. The wine is tight but streamlined on the palate, and it pushes forward with long, polished intensity

The 2021 Bussia from Einaudi has intense balsamic aromas of camphor that mingle with mature red berry, underbrush and dark spice. Full-bodied and powerfully built, the palate delivers ripe Morello cherry, spiced raspberry, licorice and tobacco set against a firm, tannic backbone and fresh acidity. Give this time to fully come together.

Tasted after the Villero, the 2021 Barolo Bussia is a bright medium ruby color and has a touch more seductive and floral depth on the nose, with notes of raspberry liqueur, fresh rosemary, pressed flowers, mossy earth, and sweet leather. It fills the palate with a more rounded, weightless, and expansive feel, medium to full-bodied richness, ripe tannins that take on a little more plushness, and even acidity. It will gain depth and develop more notes of black truffle as it ages.
