2023 Langhe Nebbiolo Ginestrino Conterno Fantino

The 2023 Langhe Nebbiolo Ginestrino will give many Barolos and Barbarescos a run for their money. It emerges from a collection of sites in Monforte and spent a brief nine months in small-format wood. Kirsch, cinnamon, mint and rose petal are beautifully lifted. A kiss of French oak adds just a touch of raciness without overpowering the wine at all.

The 2023 Langhe Nebbiolo Ginestrino is a bright ruby red hue and is fresh with delicate spice aromas as well as notes of fresh red cherries, cinnamon, and fresh flowers. The palate is elegant and refined, with well-defined, fine tannins and a clean, savory, citrus-noted finish. It has real Nebbiolo character, which is notable given the number of simple quaffers in this category. The grapes are from the estate’s Barolo vineyards, which is evident in the glass.
